It defines the fixed feed-in rates over a time-span of 20 years. The feed-in rates are divided into basic and extra rates. The basic rate is paid for every kWh of electricity that is fed into the utility grid. Added to that is the extra rate which depends on two factors: The general type of the solar system (roof-mounted, façade-mounted or ground-based) and the total output capacity.
